Every year, Nike drop a limited number of special “City Connect” jerseys for chosen MLB franchises. The teamwear celebrates the city’s that each team is located within their design, graphics, and typography, and the outcomes are beautiful. Our task was to take the assets and general creative direction of each team’s jersey, and produce e-mail layouts to be distributed by MLB Shop Europe each time a new jersey was released to the public.

The project was had a relatively short lead-time, so not much time was given for research and iteration, but the social and web assets were already created, so there was already a general creative direction. The initial idea was to stick close to Nike's modern branding style to ensure a solid and proven foundation, but to match the elevated and chaotic look of the jerseys, we wanted to showcase that within the design of the mailers.

The final result was a collection of HTML designs that match the individual aesthetic of each City Connect jersey. The feedback each week from the e-commerce team meant that each design was an improvement on the last, with the Minnesota Twins and Los Angeles Dodgers being the latest and most complete outcomes.
